Pr. Sam Surendran has been the founding senior Pastor of Excel Point Community Church from 1997. Sam and his wife, Susie both graduated from Christ For The Nation (CFNI), Bible College, Dallas, Texas. Pr Sam also graduated from the Malaysia Baptist Theological Seminary with M.A. in Pastoral Studies. He also holds a Bachelor of Theology from Christian Bible College, USA; Bachelor of Science, Southwestern University, Texas and Advanced Diploma in Youth Ministry from CFNI, Dallas Texas in the United States.

Pr Sam was a former lecturer at Kolej Damansara Utama. He has been in full time ministry since February 1987. He has served in Reservoir Garden Baptist Church as a Youth, BM and Worship Pastor for several years. Pr. Sam and Susie have two children, Jeremy Sean and Ashley May.

Pastor Benard Lee has been in EPCC since 2000, serving in the Worship Ministry before coming into full-time in September 2007. He graduated with a diploma in Supervisory from MIM (Malaysia Institute of Management).

Prior to joining EPCC, he worked for more than 15 years in the swimming pool industry, managing a swimming school for 5 years. Thereafter, for more than 10 years, he worked as an Operations Manager with the maintenance department of a swimming pool company as well as providing support for the sales & marketing.
He is married to Roseline and they have three children, Carina, Chris Isaac and Christen Sarah.

Pastor Rachel joined EPCC in 2013. She answered the full time call in 1999 at a young age. She holds a Certificate in Biblical Studies from Bible College of Malaysia; Certificate in Ministry from The School Of Acts and Certificate in Ministry from Tung Ling Seminary, Malaysia.

She started in the ministry as a pastoral intern in a church in Melaka where she was actively involved in leading the Children Ministry, Youth Ministry and Worship Ministry before assuming the role as the local pastor of the church.

Pastor Loges has been serving in EPCC since 1998. He completed his education at Polytechnic Tengku Omar, Ipoh in Electrical Engineering and has previously worked in Fairchild Semiconductor for 5 years. He came into full-time ministry in 2000.
He is married to Lainah and they have 4 children, Hannah, John, Joshua and Joell.

Pastor Ersi has been serving in EPCC since 2008. Upon completing Form 6, she worked in Indonesia for several years before moving to Malaysia in 2000 to work in a factory.
In 2003, she married Lim Hee Lye; they have 2 children, a son (Nicholas) and a daughter (Sharon). Desiring to serve, evangelise, and disciple Indonesian nationals in Penang, and to see spiritual growth in families, pastor Ersi joined the staff team in 2014.

Ken started attending EPCC in August 2015 when he and his whole family came to know Jesus. He has more than 15 years of experience in interior and renovation field. He runs his own interior company for many years until he decided to respond to God’s calling. Ken joined EPCC’s staff team in March 2019 and he is involved in a few ministries such as the Online Prayer Ministry and also in Excel Youth as well. He is married to Joan Lew and are blessed with 3 beautiful princesses, Cleo, Crystal and Chanel.

Joash Tan has been in EPCC since 2016. He graduated with a diploma in chef training from KDU college in 2014. He was a chef in Harvest Times Café for 7 years before heeding the call to join the EPCC team in 2022. He served as a service runner and is the cell group leader of Shalom CG.

Stephanie Chan has been in EPCC since 2008. She graduated with a diploma in Private Secretarial at Institute Perkim Goon. She was an Executive Secretary in housing development field for 15 years before coming on board in year 2010. Stephanie is married to Paul Oh and have two lovely children, Elise and Gabrian.

Kathy Poh joined EPCC in 2009. She has been serving actively in Children Ministry before becoming part of the staff team in 2014 in the finance department. Married to Jason Woon, they have two children, Lucas and Megan.

I joined EPCC in 2017 when the church moved to its present location.  I worked in the hotel industry for  around 40 years and was managing a hotel before the pandemic came. I was born way down south in Johor but have been living in Penang since the 80’s. I am married to Sittra and have two children, Fionaa and Nicolas.

Zachary Teh has been in EPCC since 2010. He worked as an educator for 33 years before answering God’s call to join EPCC as a full time staff. He graduated from Bible College of New Zealand, NZ  (now renamed Laidlaw College) with Diploma in Biblical Studies. He is married to Janice Low and they have a son, Thaddeus.

Lyoner has been attending EPCC since 2017, and serving actively in Children Ministry, and Creative Arts Team (CATs), and Excel Charis (BM Working Adults). She graduated from Universiti Sains Malaysia with Bachelor of Biological Science (Honors). She worked as a Mathematics and Science secondary school teacher for a year after graduation. While working with the school, she discovered God’s calling to serve in full time ministry and joined EPCC staff team in September 2023.

Joan started attending EPCC in August 2015 when she and her whole family came to Christ. She has more than 25 years of experience in graphic design. She runs her own event company for 8 years until she decided to respond to God’s calling. Joan joined EPCC’s staff team in September 2020. She is also involved in a few ministries such as the HOM for Social Media Ministry and also one of the youth mentors for Excel Youth as well. She is married to Ken Lam and are blessed with 3 beautiful princesses, Cleo, Crystal and Chanel.

Jerry started his journey with EPCC in January 2019 after he came back to God. He has been serving actively in Creative Ministry as well as Bahasa Excel Praise team as a worship leader. He is now the Head of Ministry for Excel CATs.

After graduated from USM Penang, Jerry worked as a Physics teacher before he accepted his call to serve full time in ministry.

Chriss Bryan began his journey at EPCC in 2019 while studying Communication at USM Penang. It was during this time that he embarked on personal and spiritual growth. Since then, Chriss has been dedicated to serving in Bahasa Media service. In 2023, after graduating from USM Penang, Chriss accepted his call to serve full-time as a Film and Media Production Executive.

Sathia has been with EPCC since 2015 after saved by grace in Christ through Boys’ Brigade ministry. He has been serving and currently the Head of Ministry for Excel usher ministry. After working as a librarian in WMS for 4 years, he answered God’s calling to serve Him full time in EPCC.

Joshua Raj joined EPCC in October 2009. He worked as a sales supervisor for more than 13 years in a company. He joined EPCC staff in March 2010. He is married to Buspa and they have 3 children, Jayanthi, Jonathan and Jason.

Ganesan is one of the pioneer member of epcc. Stayed in Sabah and do ministry for 17 years. Married to Sabahan wife Lisa Yapp Siew Fung and has a son Joshua Ives Gabriel. Now serve in Epcc as a maintenance staff.
