WEEK OF FASTING & PRAYER
Preparing Our Hearts for Easter
(23 - 29 MARCH 2026)

DAY 1: 23 March (Monday)
Devotion: “The Road to Gethsemane” – John 18:1–12
As we prepare ourselves to celebrate Easter, let us reflect on the faithfulness of Jesus from the Garden of Gethsemane to the cross. Because of His commitment to redeem us, Jesus did not hide in the Garden of Gethsemane, but willingly surrendered Himself.
The Garden of Gethsemane reminds us that Jesus came to restore us from the fall of sin. Therefore, when we fail or fall into sin, we do not need to hide from God. Instead, we can run to the throne of grace to receive mercy and find help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16).

Prayer Focus: Reflect on Christ’s Faithfulness
  1. Reflect and give thanks for the faithfulness of Jesus that brings restoration to us and grants us access to His grace even when we sin, feel condemned, and face various struggles.
  2. Bringing your personal weaknesses and failures to Jesus, that you may be restored and renewed in Him.
  3. Pray for our loved ones—family, friends, and acquaintances—who have not yet experienced the love of Jesus.

DAY 2: 24 March (Tuesday)
Note: 6am – Zoom | 12pm – Onsite | 8pm – Onsite
Devotion: “The Road to the High Priest’s Courtyard” – John 18:12–27
In the Old Testament, a lamb without blemish was brought to the priest to be sacrificed in order to reconcile sinful humanity with God. When Jesus was brought from the Garden of Gethsemane to the High Priest’s courtyard, He was the Lamb of God brought before the priest and would be sacrificed to reconcile us with God. Today, we can respond by offering our lives as a fragrant and pleasing sacrifice to God.

1. EPCC Good Friday and Easter Services (Congregations: English, BM Induk, Mandarin, Hokkien, Tamil, EPCC Summit, EPBK, EPK)
  • Pray for the move of the Holy Spirit in our Good Friday and Easter services.
  • Ask for a fresh revelation of the true meaning of Good Friday and Easter.
  • Pray for everyone who attend church during the Easter season to experience a renewal of their faith and commitment to follow Jesus.

  • EPCCians to come ready to worship and seek God in our All-Night Worship gathering.
  • A powerful visitation of God, miracles and spiritual revival will take place in EPCC.

DAY 3: 25 March (Wednesday)
Note: 6am – Zoom | 12pm – Onsite | 8pm – Onsite
Devotion: “The Road to Pilate’s Trial” – John 18:28–19:16
Before Pilate, the sinless Son of God was judged by a human court. He was accused though He was innocent, rejected though He is the truth, and sentenced to death on the cross so that we would not have to be judged before God, but instead be accepted by Him and made righteous before Him.

Prayer Focus: Justification in Christ proclaimed boldly in EPCC and churches around the world.
1. EPCC Church: New EPCC Building
  • Pray for the selection of the right contractor (one with integrity, wisdom, and God’s anointing) to build the house of the Lord.
  • The EPCC congregation will be united in giving generously and joyfully so that the remaining RM3 million can be fully raised.
  • The new EPCC building will become a house where the surrounding community is drawn to know the Savior and receive justification in Christ.
2. Churches Around the World
  • Churches of all denominations will hold firmly to sound doctrine.
  • The church becomes a house where believers are not condemned but come to understand that their justification comes only through the work of Christ, not through human effort.

DAY 4: 26 March (Thursday)
Note: 6am – Zoom | 12pm – Onsite | 8pm – Zoom
Devotion: “The Road to Golgotha” – John 19:17–30
Jesus endured suffering on the cross with full awareness that it was our sins that He bore. At Golgotha, Jesus demonstrated His great love for us, willingly drinking the cup of God’s wrath so that we may be protected, redeemed, and made beloved children of God.

Prayer Focus: The love of God proclaimed to the nations in Penang, throughout Malaysia, and around the world.
1. All Believers
  • Return to the first love of God during this Easter season. Believers who have grown weary in their faith in Jesus Christ will be embraced by His love and rise again in their faith.
  • Receive a true revelation of the love of Christ and be empowered to proclaim His love to family members, friends, and the marginalized who have not yet known Christ.
2. Unreached Peoples in Malaysia
  • Pray that they will desire personally to seek the truth and love in Jesus in their lives. Doors for evangelism will open to reach them.
  • Courage to receive the love of Christ when they hear the gospel and to live in the power of the Holy Spirit so that persecution will not cause fear.
  • Salvation of souls will take place through the knowledge of Christ in homeless centres, orphanages, elderly homes, places serving the poor, and hospitals in Penang and Malaysia.
3. Nations Facing Oppression, Poverty, and War
  • The love of God will visit them and they will experience the embrace of His love wherever they are.
  • God will send more of His children to visit them with physical aid (financial help, food and necessities) to relieve their hardship, while also bringing the gospel that gives new hope for life.

DAY 5: 27 March (Friday)
Devotion: “The Road to Emmaus” – Luke 24:1–35
The two disciples on the road to Emmaus did not recognize Jesus when He walked with them. Yet Jesus explained to them all the Scriptures that spoke about Him. The resurrection of Jesus proves that we have been redeemed and that the promises of God have been fulfilled.
Sometimes the way God fulfils His promises is different from what we expect, but it is always far better than anything we could imagine.

Prayer Focus: God’s people who are facing crises in family, finances, relationships, and physical or mental health.
  • Pray that their eyes will be opened to witness the unchanging faithfulness of God in their lives—that God’s way of restoring them is higher than their ways.
  • Pray for the restoration of hearts even if their situations have not yet changed, but their hearts are already set free.
  • Declare victory over their circumstances and trust God that their crises will also be restored through God’s miraculous ways.

DAY 6: 28 March (Saturday)
Devotion: “The Road to the Resurrection” – John 20
The stone had been rolled away and Mary found the tomb empty. The stone was not rolled away so that Jesus could come out of the tomb. The stone could not prevent Jesus from coming out of the tomb, but it could prevent the disciples from entering and witnessing that Jesus had risen.
Today there are many kinds of “stones” that can prevent us from believing in Jesus—stones of unbelief, impossibility, and the deception of the devil. Let us surrender those stones to Jesus and allow Him to roll them away so that we may once again experience the power of His resurrection.

Prayer Focus: Water Baptism candidates and all new believers.
  • They will truly understand the power of Jesus’ resurrection, and every stone that prevents them from truly knowing Jesus will be rolled away from before them.
  • They will live in their identity as the righteousness of God and no longer allow themselves to be enslaved by sin.
  • They will have a deep hunger and thirst to know God more and be discipled to grow in their faith.

DAY 7: 29 March (Sunday)
Devotion: “The Road to the Resurrection” – John 20
Mary Magdalene was in uncertainty when she found the empty tomb of Jesus. She thought the empty tomb was bad news and that she would never see Jesus again. Yet in that very place Mary experienced something extraordinary—she met the risen Jesus and heard Him call her by name.
Today, uncertainty is not proof that God has abandoned us. Often it is precisely in places of uncertainty that we encounter Christ personally. The empty tomb is proof that Jesus is sovereign over every situation in life, even over death.

Prayer Focus: Yourself
  • Experience a personal encounter with Jesus in whatever uncertainty you are currently facing.
  • Receive a fresh revelation of the resurrection of Jesus and hear Him speak personally and clearly in your heart during this Easter season.
  • Like Mary, may you also be eager to spread and proclaim the resurrection of Jesus to others who are still living in uncertainty.
